> Westernaria Community Computer Centre
Bosasa believes in the future of South Africa. That is why we have invested in a number of community computer centres. We are proud to empower our rainbow nation’s youth.
Each centre has between 15 and 50 computers and, to date, in total, more than 1 200 students (members from the community, clients, school children, mine workers and local ward councilors) have successfully completed recognized computer training courses.
One such Centre is a Bosasa Community Computer Centre in the mining town of Westonaria. This seemingly basic need brought well awaited relief to that community at a time when local mines were laying off employees en masse. Courses were offered free of charge to members of mining community and their children.
Fifty computers in a well equipped centre were used to give computer lessons from basic skills to the most advanced. Beneficiaries who had passed matric but had difficult times landing employment, found the job market opened for when they displayed advanced computer skills to prospective employers.
