More than 200,000 inmates with latent positive capabilities and great aspirations, are waiting to be released into an uncertain future. This uncertainty is fuelled by thwarted opportunities and a distrusting community, which remembers only the trust that was breached. Becoming skilled sounds easy. It is another challenge to be socialised, skilled and professional enough for a potential employer and peer workers, to overlook the stigma of incarceration as an inmate. However, with the new vision of rehabilitating offenders psycho-socially and economically, JCT will work to change both the face of an offender and the nature of a community.
JCT and Bosasa have already entered into discussions with groupings such as McDonalds, Sun International as well as the South African Chefs Association (SACA) to actively assist with the placement of ex-offenders.
Bosasa has employed ex-offenders into various disciplines within its own group of companies & business units.
